New teddy bear shed

There is a new teddy bear shed under construction as I type! we are building a new house at East Burra, down Meadows Road, and are including a big new shiny Workshop for me, although I will always refer to it as the 'teddy bear shed', it will have a lot more room to work and a small shop area for visitors, something I don't really have at the moment as my current 'shed' is way too small. We are down by the sea and will get fantastic views over Papil and out the voe, I can't wait, I am soooo excited, hopefully we will be in by the end of the year, here's a sneak preview....

This is the view from the window of the new 'teddy shed' or will be the view once the big pile of earth has been removed!

Tweed collection

Having been asked in the past about Shetland Tweed bears I decided to start a new range, using the same Burra Bear design but working in a different fabric, Shetland Tweed made from wool from Shetland Sheep which is dyed, spun and woven in the Islands, this fabric is produced by Jamieson's Spinning http://jamiesonsshetland.co.uk/jamiesons/ they have a gorgeous array of pure wool fabrics, have a look at some I have made so far! I launched them at Flavour of Shetland 08, and they went down really well!

Flavour of Shetland 08

Flavour of Shetland 2008, what can I say, wet, wet, wet, that was about it, we set up on the Wednesday night which was fantastic, warm, dry, but the next day the rain came, it did let up on Saturday (thankfully!), there were quite a few folk around and it was a good atmosphere but Sunday made up for it, with galeforce winds and driving rain, we packed up early, got a takeaway and came home to warm up!
